Submerged deep underground or in sediment-heavy canal sumps where silt, algae, and lightning surges through long outdoor signal lines frequently damage sensors.
What to Specify When Ordering for this Process
- Removable protective nose cone for easy cleaning and sediment protection
- Vented polyurethane (PUR) cable with internal moisture barrier filter
- 4–20 mA 2-wire loop for direct connection to solar pump drives or RTUs
- External lightning surge protection module recommended at the surface junction box
In turbulent pump wells, suspend the sensor inside a perforated PVC stilling well to damp velocity waves and prevent the probe from striking the well wall.
